Whatcha Drinkin? Weekly Beer Review.

As a big fan of Central Waters Brewing Co. in Amherst Wisconsin, I tend to gravitate towards any of their beers when I’m in the mood to try something new. The bright colored can got my attention on the shelf and the description convinced me to give it a shot.

The name of the beer is Duncan, and it is an imperial milk stout. The description on the can reads, “Ah, Memories! What was once a favorite part of our lunches is now brought to you in stout form. Brewed with graham crackers, lactose, vanilla, & natural flavorings to bring back all of that 90’s nostalgia.” It’s allegedly based off of the popular 90’s snack, Dunkaroos, which was a snack pack containing vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting meant for dipping. The beer has an ABV of 7.75%.

The first impression you get just before you take a sip is the aroma of the beer. You won’t find too many that smell as good. It’s definitely reminiscent of cookies and frosting. The beer has a sweetness to it, but not overpowering. You definitely taste the vanilla and graham cracker, but again it doesn’t dominate. It’s smooth and relatively easy drinking considering the higher ABV. Overall it’s a good beer that I would recommend especially if you’re craving something on the sweeter side. Pick it up at your local liquor or grocery store. As always, drink responsibly!
